It seems that FC Barcelona are rather keen on making some important moves this month. While the Catalan giants have just recently overcome their troublesome registration problems, there are other pending issues to resolve as well. One such pending issue at Barcelona is that of new arrivals and potential exits.

Over the course of the last few weeks, there have been numerous reports suggesting that Barcelona and a certain Manchester United winger would be open to working together. However, it was clear that there would be difficulties in enabling such an operation to come to fruition.

Now, however, there has been a rather major development. According to Fabrizio Romano, 27-year-old Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s camp recently met with Barcelona director Deco in Lisbon. With the Catalan side set to have a match against SL Benfica in a few hours, Deco must have made the most of the opportunity.

As per the Italian journalist, Barcelona are keen on acquiring the services of the English winger and even the player himself is open to the move. The only hurdles that stand in the way right now are other departures, which must be handled by the Catalan club to make room for the player.

Two potential exits that have been highlighted by Romano include Eric Garcia’s possible departure to Como or Girona, as well as Ansu Fati’s situation that the club is hoping to resolve. Once and if those are sorted out, Barcelona could realistically make a move for the Premier League forward.

This meeting, however, is a major step forward. It remains to be seen what ends up happening by the end of the winter transfer window, but it seems clear that Barcelona consider Rashford a solid enough option to pursue like this. As for the player himself, it would seem as if this is an operation that he is quite convinced by.

Moreover, with the Catalan giants now back in the 1:1 rule, there is more leverage for them to work with. However, the salary space remains the primary hurdle for the club to overcome, and until and unless exits can be arranged, it would be difficult to bring in new players.
