Barcelona director Deco meets with 19-year-old promising winger’s agent | OneFootball

According to SPORT, Barcelona sporting director Deco held an informal meeting yesterday with the agent of summer signing Roony Bardghji at the Ciutat Esportiva.

It was a brief contact to review the 19-year-old’s current situation at the club and analyse how he is adapting following his arrival during this transfer window.

Positive feelings

As per the report, the feeling conveyed by the Barça sporting management is that the plan for the youngster’s development is progressing well.

The Catalans value Bardghji’s professionalism in daily training sessions and the way he responds when given opportunities to play by manager Hansi Flick.

Having had a few months to adapt, the version of Bardghji that first caught Deco’s attention at Copenhagen is beginning to emerge.

The 19-year-old winger is showing more confidence in taking on defenders, and his ability with the ball at his feet is starting to shine through.

Injuries in the attacking department have opened up space for the Swede, and he is getting more minutes, with each appearance showing signs of growth. So far this term, he has played seven times in all competitions (186 minutes), registering one assist.

A long-standing connection

The relationship between Deco and Bardghji’s camp goes back some time. The Barcelona director had marked his name a couple of years ago, when he was standing out at Copenhagen.

There had been contact with his entourage and continuous monitoring, but during one of those meetings at Barcelona’s facilities, the agent received the worst possible news: Bardghji had suffered an injury that would keep him off the pitch for a long period.

That setback cooled any potential move and forced the club to wait for the right moment, which came this past summer.

Now, fully settled in Barcelona and completely adapted, Bardghji could become an important player for the team. The Blaugrana are confident that his development will continue positively and that, with more minutes, his impact will steadily grow.
