FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen suffered a full rupture of the patella tendon in his right knee during Sunday’s 5-1 win over Villarreal in LaLiga.

According to ESPN, the German shot-stopper is expected to be out for months and will likely miss the rest of the season.

In response, Barcelona’s leadership is set to hold emergency talks this week to discuss the possibility of signing a free-agent goalkeeper to cover for Ter Stegen.

However, there’s another possibility that Barcelona will attempt to hold down the fort with what they have and then address the situation during the January window. Moreover, the Catalan side already has a target.

According to SPORT (h/t Barca Universal), former La Masia standout and current PSG goalkeeper Arnau Tenas could be a player Barcelona looks at during the January transfer window.

Tenas was highly regarded during his time at La Masia but left Barcelona last year when the club decided not to renew his contract. Furthermore, the player was part of the Spanish team that won a gold medal at the Summer Olympics.

Since joining PSG as a free agent, the Spaniard has struggled for game time, with Gianluigi Donnarumma firmly holding the starting spot.
