There was an embarrassing moment for one Barcelona fan on Tuesday night, after turning up at the wrong stadium for his side's Champions League clash with Newcastle United.
Barcelona battled to a 1-1 draw at St James' Park on Tuesday night, with Lamine Yamal's stoppage-time spot-kick rescuing a result for the Spanish champions.
One supporter, however, missed out on the action entirely after turning up more than 300 miles away in Exeter.
An incredible gaffe saw the Barcelona fan rock up at Exeter City's St James' Park, with the mistake only dawning on him when he showed his ticket to staff at the ground. Fortunately, the hospitable staff at Exeter allowed him entry to their stadium instead.
Adam Spencer, Supporter Experience Officer at Exeter City, said: “One of our volunteers came to the office to let us know that this guy had turned up expecting to see FC Barcelona.
"His English wasn’t great, but from what we could gather, he’d come from London. My guess is he’d put St James' Park in his phone and then just followed the directions from there.
“He was pretty gutted and a bit embarrassed. So, we sorted him out a ticket and he got to watch a game at the real St James' Park. He’d be welcome back any time.”
The Barcelona fan might have missed out on aChampions League contest in the North East, but he at least got to witness some third-tier talent.
Tom Hamer's 32nd-minute goal earned League One leaders Lincoln City a 1-0 win over The Grecians.
