Barcelona could be heading towards a major attacking shake-up, and the latest developments around Robert Lewandowski suggest the situation is far more serious than it first appeared.

According to Nil Sola via Cadena SER, the Polish striker is actively considering his future, and quite surprisingly, staying at Barcelona is no longer his priority.

The outlet mentions that the current situation is the result of months of uncertainty and growing dissatisfaction.

Lewandowski’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, yet there has been little to no concrete progress regarding a renewal.

For a player of his stature, that silence has created a feeling that his importance within the project is being questioned.

Feeling undervalued

There is a growing belief in his camp that his contributions this season have not been fully recognised.

Combined with reduced playing time and an unclear role moving forward, it has led to a sense of disillusionment.

The message from the club, whether intentional or not, arrived too late to fully reassure him. As a result, Lewandowski is no longer waiting.

He is now actively evaluating the options available to him, and there is no shortage of interest.

No shortage of suitors

European opportunities remain on the table for Lewandowski, with AC Milan emerging as a particularly attractive destination.

The Italian side’s sporting project is believed to have impressed the striker, and reports from Italy suggest he has already given the green light to explore that move further.

Beyond Europe, clubs from the MLS, including Chicago Fire, and teams from Saudi Arabia are monitoring the situation closely, ready to step in if the opportunity arises.

Not inclined towards Barcelona stay

Notably, Lewandowski is not clinging to the idea of staying in Barcelona

Instead, he is taking control of his next step, with a clear timeline in mind. The decision is expected soon, before the end of April or, at the very latest, early May.

For Barcelona, this is a situation that raises serious questions.

The club had ample time to define Lewandowski’s role, whether as a leading figure or part of a transition.

Instead, the lack of communication has allowed doubts to grow, and now those doubts are turning into potential action.
