Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that FC Barcelona had tabled a contract offer to veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, whose current deal expires in June.
There have been a lot of speculations regarding the 37-year-old forward’s future, with clubs from Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the USA all vying to sign him.
Amidst this, it was suggested that Lewandowski had been offered a contract by Barcelona and that he knew the terms that the Blaugrana were offering to keep him at the club for another season.
Now, however, Anais Marti of La Vanguardia reports that Barcelona have not submitted any contract renewal offer for Lewandowski.
Indeed, the report suggests that the Poland captain’s renewal is cooling down as things stand, with the club not tabling any offer so far to extend his stay despite reports suggesting otherwise.

The main objective for Barcelona, with regard to the No. 9 position, remains to sign Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
Retaining Lewandowski, in that respect, could prove to be a burden, even if he agrees to lower his salary, unless Barça decide to offload Ferran Torres instead.
So, the situation remains fluid as things stand, and so far, there has been no contract offer sent from the La Liga champions to the veteran centre-forward.
This development comes amidst reports from Italy claiming that Lewandowski has already offered himself to Serie A giants AC Milan.
It remains to be seen how the situation evolves in the coming weeks, with a decision from all parties involved expected to be made in the near future.
