Pablo Torre remains sidelined for FC Barcelona as the midfielder continues to deal with discomfort in his left knee.

The young midfielder was left out of the squad for the recent trip to Real Valladolid, where he was likely to get minutes, and also did not travel to Milan for tonight’s crucial UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Torre a doubt for El Clasico

Now, SPORT reports that Torre is now a doubt for this Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid at Montjuic, though he has not been ruled out.

Those close to the player hope he will be fully fit by next week, when Barça could clinch the league title if they beat Madrid and then Espanyol in the derby on May 15.

Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that Torre was dealing with a minor issue in his left knee, but did not give a timetable for his return, only stating that his reintegration would depend on how he progresses.

The injury came during training ahead of the match against already-relegated Valladolid – a game in which he was expected to feature after not playing since March 30, when he had been fit and available.

The injury is considered mild, but the timing is unfortunate and there is hope that the Spaniard could recover fully next week.

So far this season, Torre has played only 14 times in all competitions (421 minutes), managing four goals and three assists in his limited opportunities.

If Barcelona seal the La Liga title in the derby at the RCDE Stadium, the final two league matches – vs Villarreal and Athletic Club – would be meaningless in terms of standings, potentially giving Torre another shot at meaningful minutes.
