The forward line was one of the areas where FC Barcelona brought most reinforcements in the last summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji to bolster Hansi Flick’s attacking options.
One of these players, Rashford, is already proving to be very useful for the German coach. However, only a few weeks after the end of the last summer transfer window, the Blaugranes are being linked with some other exciting names from the market.
One such name is the Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, who, according to SPORT, is the Plan B for Barcelona in case Marcus Rashford does not remain with their team for the next season.
The Turkish international has become one of Juventus’ most important players but continues to earn among the lowest salaries in the squad.
This situation has drawn attention from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, Chelsea, and Arsenal, all of whom are keeping a close eye on his future as renewal talks in Turin have stalled.
Yildiz, who was developed at Bayern Munich before joining Juventus, has quickly become a fan favourite in Italy. The 20-year-old is currently the club’s top assist provider and their second-highest goalscorer, trailing only Dusan Vlahovic.
His No. 10 shirt, once worn by legends such as Alessandro Del Piero and Roberto Baggio, is now the best-selling jersey among Juventus supporters.
Despite his growing influence both on and off the pitch, and with his current contract running until 2029, Yildiz remains one of the lowest-paid players in the squad, earning around €1.7 million per year.
Juventus are reportedly planning to offer him a new deal worth up to €6 million annually, which would make him the club’s second-highest earner behind Vlahovic.
Both the player and the club are said to desire a continued partnership, but until an agreement is finalized, Barcelona and other European giants will continue to monitor the situation closely.
Juventus aim to secure the renewal before the winter transfer window to ward off potential interest and ensure that Yildiz remains central to their long-term project.
