Barcelona now interested in in-form Bundesliga striker – Report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are always in the market when it comes to finding great opportunities to sign top players. While their finances are clearly a problem, the Catalan giants are still open to spending when needed. However, Barcelona still remain careful about where exactly they spend their limited resources.

As of right now, the team seems to be in a good spot in terms of overall squad depth and quality. While it never hurts to have strong alternative options for specific positions, Barcelona do not exactly have that privilege across every single position this season.

However, ahead of the summer transfer window, the club has been linked to certain potential signings. From full-backs to forwards, Barcelona remain fully involved when it comes to transfer rumors and that is always a constant no matter what.

According to Fichajes, however, there is a certain centre-forward that Barcelona may now be interested in signing if possible. 29-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy seems to have caught Barça’s eye, especially after his most recent display.

Scoring a hattrick against Hansi Flick’s side in the recent game between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, he helped his team win 3-1 against the Catalan giants. While it was not enough to make a comeback against the aggregate score, it was still a memorable performance for the African forward.

So far this season, he has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga and has an impressive 13 goals in the UEFA Champions League as well. These are unreal numbers from the Guinean international, and certainly good enough for his price tag to be a high one if any club is interested.

Almost a nobody for most top teams before this season, he has now certainly made a name for himself. While Dortmund may not exactly be flying this season in terms of their standings and placements in various competitions, the striker himself is having a great season individually.

Guirassy’s profile, one of a dangerous striker with a physical presence, is something that Barça seems to lack right now. While Robert Lewandowski is performing well enough, it does not hurt Barcelona to think about the future in advance.
