La Liga champions Barcelona could be forced to play their first home fixture of the new campaign at a neutral ground.
That’s according to Helena Condis of COPE, who points towards the Estadi Montilivi as the stadium in question.
Barcelona are of course currently hard at work in an effort to ensure that the club’s Spotify Camp Nou renovations are completed in time for their first home fixture of the new Spanish top-flight season.
As much has been scheduled against Valencia, on September 14th.
As the days pass, however, it is beginning to look increasingly unlikely that as much will come to pass.
Joan Laporta and co. have therefore been forced to seek out alternative arrangements for their Valencia showdown.
And if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, one such option could be provided by the Blaugrana’s Catalan rivals, Girona.
As per the aforementioned Helena Condis, the Barca hierarchy have opened talks with their Girona counterparts, over the possibility of facing Valencia at the Estadi Montilivi.
