After weeks of speculation, Barcelona, last night, finally announced the contract extension of Lamine Yamal until 2031.

The teenage sensation has signed a long-term deal and is expected to become one of the top earners at the club.

Yamal’s contract extension marks an exciting period for Barcelona fans, in which the club have also announced the renewal of Raphinha. However, the club are not slowing down anytime soon.

Barcelona to renew Marc Bernal soon

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are soon expected to renew the contract of Marc Bernal.

The young midfielder is expected to sign a contract until 2029, thereby sealing his long-term future in Catalonia.

Bernal’s potential renewal will be part of Deco’s vision for the club as the Barça sporting director continues his renewal spree for key young talents.

Bernal is a curious case for Barcelona. The youngster rose to prominence in the early parts of last season, establishing himself as quite the prospect.

However, the midfielder’s progress was halted by a devastating injury that ruled him out for the entire season.

Despite the injury, Barcelona have retained faith in the young midfielder and wants him to become a key part of the setup in the coming season.

That is why Barça are pushing ahead with the renewal of Bernal, which in turn, could greatly inflate the youngster’s confidence going into the new season.

It will be interesting to see how Hansi Flick plans to utilise the qualities of Bernal as well, especially given that Marc Casado, his initial replacement, has also become a viable first-team option.

One would expect the upcoming pre-season to play a key role in determining Bernal’s role next season.
