La Liga giants Barcelona have set their sights on ‘revenge’ in the club’s upcoming showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.
That’s according to Blaugrana star Pedri, who has on Tuesday spoken on the situation.
Barcelona are of course primed to return to action tomorrow evening.
Shifting focus back towards matters on the continent, Hansi Flick’s troops will welcome reigning tournament holders PSG to Catalunya’s capital, for a Champions League clash.
The fixture marks a repeat of a face-off between the clubs two seasons ago, in the competition’s quarter-finals.
On that occasion, it was the Ligue 1 side who advanced, courtesy of a 4-1 romp in the tie’s 2nd leg in Spain.
And as alluded to above, if the latest comments on the part of one member of Barcelona’s midfield ranks are anything to go by, then the Blaugrana have evidently still not moved past this defeat.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Pedri explained:
“The quarter-final exit against PSG? I think all of us as Barcelona fans felt there was a moment when we were just one step away from qualifying. It was a tough match, and we want to give it a tone of revenge. Next year you can try again in the Champions League for what you may lose or leave behind. Obviously, everyone wants to play these kinds of matches, especially against one of the best teams in the world — they’re the ones you enjoy the most.”
