Barcelona star could be used in a new position after Pedri injury | OneFootball

Barcelona star Eric García could be shifted back into the middle of the park following the injury sustained by Blaugrana teammate Pedri.

Spanish international Pedri is of course fresh off being condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.

After being put through a round of routine medical tests earlier this week, a serious hamstring injury was discovered.

Pedri, as a result, could spend as long as the next two months on the treatment table.

Already short on options in midfield following the latest long-term setback suffered by Gavi, Hansi Flick could therefore be forced to get creative in his efforts to fill out his engine room for the months ahead.

And one such option to have been floated again over recent days is a change of role for Eric García.

Defender Eric has for his part taken to the pitch in a defensive midfield berth on a number of occasions in the past.

Fresh off a stellar opening to the campaign whilst lining out at both right-back and centre-back, it is in turn not out of the question that the former Manchester City man could be tested further forward once again in the near future.
