FC Barcelona may not have made many signings this summer, but one of the biggest names they brought in was Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has arrived on loan for the season.

The Catalan club has the option to make Rashford’s signature permanent at the end of the season. Rashford has shown flashes of brilliance in his early days in Hansi Flick’s team.

Although Rashford is yet to get into the starting XI scheme of things, he has proven to be a valuable resource off the bench. This has also earned him a call-up to the England squad.

As per SPORT, Thomas Tuchel is still figuring out things with the England national team and gave Rashford a start against Andorra, where he played 68 minutes before being substituted for Anthony Gordon.

Rashford started off brightly, looking to take on his man repeatedly. He also had a big chance off a rebound from an Eze shot, which, in all fairness, he should have buried.

In the time that he spent on the pitch, as per Sofascore, the 27-year-old touched the ball 44 times, completing 24 out of 31 passes with a 71% accuracy and was successful with 2 out of his 3 attempted dribbles.

The black mark on that performance was the fact that he lost the ball 13 times, which isn’t a good reflection, having played around just an hour of football.

That said, with someone like Marcus Rashford, who often looks to take risks like taking his man on or attempting an ambitious pass, this isn’t a statistic that one must read much into.

It remains to be seen if Tuchel gives Rashford a second successive start against Serbia, and Rashford will be hoping to cap off the international break with a goal. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
