A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday laid down something of a challenge to Real Madrid counterpart Kylian Mbappé.
This comes ahead of the pair locking horns on the international front on Tuesday night.
The European Championships are of course set to kick back into gear in 24 hours’ time, when France and Spain go toe-to-toe for a place in the competition’s semi-finals.
The aforementioned Mbappé, for his part, is expected to be in from the off once more for the matchup, despite his ongoing struggles whilst donning a personalised facial mask.
On the Spain side of things, meanwhile, hopeful of featuring in at least some capacity will be Ferran Torres, whose role as an impact substitute for Spain has proven a largely productive one to date.
And, should he ultimately go on to take his place on the pitch on Tuesday night, Ferran is hopeful of facing off in a ‘race’ with France’s captain.
This week, it was revealed that, across Euro 2024 to date, only Mbappé has clocked a superior sprint speed to Ferran.
Drawn on as much by the media earlier today, the Barcelona star, in turn, went on to respond:
“Let’s see if I have a race with Mbappé… And beat him in speed during the semi-finals.”
