Barcelona star limps off with injury vs Celta Vigo | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Wednesday been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

This comes after defender João Cancelo was forced into a premature departure from the club’s latest outing.

Hansi Flick’s troops are currently locked in action on the domestic front, in a meeting with Celta Vigo.

The aforementioned Cancelo was afforded his latest start by Hansi Flick for the matchup, slotting in on the left of Barcelona’s backline.

Early in proceedings at the Spotify Camp Nou, however, the Portuguese was dealt a blow.

After pulling up with what appeared to be a knee problem, it quickly became clear that Cancelo was in no fit state to continue.

The former Manchester City man was therefore withdrawn, replaced in the Blaugrana’s XI by Alejandro Balde.

It now remains to be seen if Cancelo is facing up to any form of extended spell on the treatment table over the weeks ahead.
