Barcelona star Fermín López has this week spoken publicly regarding the claims of his alleged fallout with teammate and midfield partner Gavi.
The name of youngster Fermín of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of weeks.
This comes after the 22-year-old was the subject of a late transfer window push on the part of Premier League outfit Chelsea.
All the while, though, further speculation was running rampant in Spain surrounding Fermín, and the aforementioned Gavi.
As much came amid suggestions that the pair, long-time close friends, had grown apart owing to a serious rift.
Speaking during an interview with Mundo Deportivo whilst on international duty with Spain this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to Fermín himself.
And the attacking midfielder made use of the opportunity to shut the speculation down once and for all:
“Gavi has been my friend since I was 12. I’ve known him since my time at Betis, but since I joined La Masia, he’s been my friend, like my brother.
“We’ve shared a lot. People always speculate, this isn’t going to change, but he’s still my friend. We have a good relationship, as always, and I have nothing more to say about it.”
