Barcelona star ‘ruled out’ for Chelsea clash | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona will again be forced to make do without the contributions of midfield standout Pedri in their upcoming meeting with Chelsea.

This comes amid confirmation that the 22-year-old has not recovered in time to play his part at Stamford Bridge.

Pedri has for his part been sidelined since late last month, owing to a muscular injury suffered in a meeting with Real Madrid.

The Spanish international was initially tipped for a spell of five to six weeks on the sidelines.

Recent days, however, saw it suggested that Pedri was well ahead of schedule in his recovery, to the point that he could be included in Hansi Flick’s travelling squad to face Chelsea this week.

But as alluded to above, this will in fact not be the case.

As per a report from Barcelona insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, after sitting out against Athletic Club at the Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday:

‘Pedri [has been] ruled out for Chelsea.’
