FC Barcelona have felt the absence of key winger and one of the club captains, Raphinha, over the past month quite heavily.

The 28-year-old superstar is one of Hansi Flick’s most important players, and his being out injured for an extended period has come as a blow.

But, there is good news on the horizon for Barcelona fans as far as Raphinha’s fitness condition is concerned.

Final phase of recovery

Indeed, according to Jijantes FC, Raphinha is now in the final phase of his recovery and could soon start training with the rest of the group.

The Brazilian international has been out since late September, when he suffered an injury during the game against Real Oviedo in La Liga.

Expectations were that Raphinha could return in time for El Clasico, but a fresh setback in training put him back on the treatment tables.

Now, though, Raphinha is understood to have entered the final phase of his recovery. For now, he continues to train individually, but is expected to get back to group sessions soon.

If everything goes according to plan, Barcelona will have Raphinha back for their first game after the international break when they take on Athletic Club on 22 November.

Prior to his injury, Raphinha had made seven appearances across all competitions this season, registering three goals and two assists.

While Marcus Rashford has stepped up admirably in the Brazilian’s absence, the Manchester United loanee does not offer the same as the Barcelona captain in terms of off-the-ball pressing and intensity.

As such, Raphinha’s imminent return will be a welcome boost for Barça, as they gear up for important matches against the likes of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
