Large sections of the home crowd in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Athletic Club on Saturday night made use of the opportunity to take aim at president Joan Laporta.

As much, of course, comes amid what has proven another shambolic week in Catalunya’s capital.

After, first, the Blaugrana bid farewell to key midfielder İlkay Gündoğan on a free transfer, summer arrival Dani Olmo then missed out on a potential debut for the 2nd week in succession, owing to ongoing registration issues.

And such shortcomings, it would appear, are going down predictably poorly amongst those of a Barcelona persuasion.

Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, locking horns with Athletic Club in a La Liga clash at Montjuïc.

When all was said and done, Barcelona made it two wins from two to open the campaign, triumphing by two goals to one.

Across the 90 minutes, however, all was not well in the stands…

Still furious with recent ongoings behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, droves of Barca supporters pointed the finger of blame squarely at president Joan Laporta, by way of chants of:

“Barca yes, Laporta no!”
