Just a while back, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed that FC Barcelona winger and captain Raphinha had suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh.

The winger sustained the injury while in action for the Brazilian national team against France in an international friendly in Massachusetts, USA, on Thursday night.

One month out?

Raphinha will now be flying back to Barcelona and is expected to undergo more tests at the club facilities to determine the severity of the injury and the potential recovery timeline.

However, according to journalist Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo, sources in Brazil are suggesting that the talismanic winger could be staring at one month out on the sidelines.

If so, it will come as a huge blow for Barcelona as Raphinha would end up missing several important matches, including the La Liga fixture and the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matches against Atletico Madrid.

In addition, there is also the Catalan derby against RCD Espanyol in La Liga, while the Blaugrana are also scheduled to take on Celta Vigo and Getafe later in April.

It must be noted that Raphinha had already suffered a hamstring injury in his right thigh earlier this season, back in September.

The 29-year-old winger spent two months out on the sidelines because of it, having suffered a relapse during his recovery.

As such, Barcelona will be exercising complete caution with their key attacker and will not take any risks by rushing him back.

For now, the La Liga champions will be eagerly awaiting Raphinha’s return so as to carry out more medical tests and learn the extent of his hamstring injury.
