Barcelona to face Nottingham Forest and Udinese in new preseason tournament | OneFootball

The plans for the upcoming preseason are already almost finalized at FC Barcelona. The Catalan club is set to restart training on this coming Monday, on 13th July, but as only a few first-team players would be available on that day, owing to the World Cup and vacations, several youth and reserve team players are going to be called up Hansi Flick, who is set to return to the club facilities today, on Thursday.

Almost two weeks after this start of preseason training, the team will play its first friendly, against EE Europa at the facilities of St. Joan Despi on 24th July. After another week, the Blaugrana team would travel to England, where they will hold a week-long training camp, from 27th July to 2nd August. While in England, Flick’s team will also face Birmingham City in a friendly.

After these two friendlies, another third is set to be played against the Italian side Udinese on 8th August. However, Mundo Deportivo cites Esport3 to report that this match is now going to be a part of a three-team tournament, which would also include the English side Nottingham Forest. An agreement in this regard has already been reached.

This triangular tournament is not going to end preseason friendly action for Barcelona, but their remaining friendlies are yet to be finalized. They have already received offers to play friendlies in Rabat and Nairobi, and another friendly to be played within the duration of their stay in England, with Watford or Stoke City being the most likely opponents, is yet to be finalized.

After that, the preseason would be concluded with the Joan Gamper Trophy, for which the opponent is also yet to be finalized, but the Egyptian side Al-Ahly is one of the teams being mention. Hopefully, all these preseason engagements would help Barcelona get into their best shape ahead of the 2026-27 season.
