A leading member of the transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday provided the Blaugrana with a fresh reminder of his stellar talents.

The player in question? Julián Alvarez.

Barcelona are of course currently locked in action with Alvarez and Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid in a Champions League tie.

And as things stand at the Spotify Camp Nou, it is the Argentine international who represents the difference between the sides.

After Pau Cubarsí was shown a straight red card for a last-man challenge late in the first-half, Alvarez took responsibility of the ensuing free-kick.

And safe to say, the former Manchester City man made his opportunity count…

Making use of his wand of a right foot, Alvarez bent nothing short of a sensational strike into the top corner of the Barcelona goal.

And in the process, the gifted frontman sent a fresh message to those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, of his potential readiness to take up centre-forward duties in Hansi Flick’s squad next season.
