Barcelona transfer target waiting for Hansi Flick’s ‘OK’ | OneFootball

Departing Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is waiting and hoping for the green light from Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick to join the club this summer.

This comes with the German, it would appear, still not 100% certain about adding the midfielder to his squad.

Bernardo’s name has of course reemerged as a prominent one in the media headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

Ahead of his imminent free agent exit from Man City, reports have pointed towards Barcelona as the outright frontrunners to land the one-time Monaco man.

This comes owing chiefly to the eagerness of Bernardo himself to fulfil his lifelong Camp Nou dream.

Some outlets have gone as far as to claim that an agreement is already in place between the parties over the terms of a two-year contract.

As alluded to above, though, word stemming from Spain on Sunday suggests otherwise…

As per a report from journalist Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo, work remains to be done to both convince Hansi Flick, and open up the necessary space in the German’s squad:

‘Bernardo Silva is liked at Barça, he’s eager to sign and is a free agent, but his arrival depends on Flick giving the OK. There needs to be departures, in midfield or up front, and now Deco has other priorities. He’ll have to be patient even though he’d want it done before the World Cup.’
