In a recent interview with Sport, former Rosenborg assistant coach Jordi Gonzalez urged Barcelona to move in for Lille winger Marius Broholm this summer. Gonzalez said,

“If I were Barça, I’d sign Marius Broholm. He’s highly self-confident, which allows him to adapt quickly to a dressing room. Players here in Norway are generally very noble, but in other clubs things can be more demanding. He’s got the ability to adapt to any situation.”

Broholm’s Rapid Rise In Norwegian Football

Broholm caught the eye during his time at Rosenborg as he put in a lot of impressive displays for them on the right flank. The 20-year-old scored 19 times and earned three assists in 56 senior appearances for the Norwegian club before his move to Lille earlier this summer.

Broholm is among the best young wingers in Norwegian football. Thus, it is no wonder that Barcelona have been urged to sign the talented whizkid. He has the makings of a top talent and could prove himself to be a success story at the Nou Camp in the long run.

Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Snap Broholm Up?

Broholm is full of energy and running in the opponent’s half. He can shoot the ball well from long range and has got the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Norwegian talent is primarily a right-winger but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or as a centre-forward if asked to do so by his manager. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in La Liga if Barcelona opt to go for him in the future.

Broholm will no doubt improve the quality of Barca boss Hansi Flick’s attack in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good squad player for the Catalan club.

At 20, the future looks quite bright for Broholm as long as he continues to improve with each year. Thus, Flick would be wise to listen to Gonzalez’s advice by snapping him up at the end of next season. For now, Barcelona would be wise to monitor his progress at Lille.
