Robert Lewandowski has been a shining light of sorts for Barcelona in recent weeks, having masterfully returned to form after a slow start to the season.
Lewandowski has scored in his last two matches for Barcelona in La Liga, including a hat-trick against Celta Vigo and the opener against Athletic Club at Camp Nou.
That means he was the first player to score at Camp Nou after the iconic stadium made its grand return after two and a half years.
Lewandowski’s return to form has led many to believe that Barcelona might want to consider the possibility of holding on to his services for another year.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Pole has a ‘concrete’ chance of leaving the Catalan side at the end of the season, when his contract comes to an end.
Although Barcelona have an option to extend his contract for a further year, everything suggests the veteran striker will leave Catalonia next summer.

There have been talks of potential interest from Turkish clubs heading into the January transfer window. But Romano has dismissed any chance of Lewandowski leaving Barcelona in January.
Romano adds that the former Bayern Munich striker is currently fully focused on performing for Barcelona in the coming matches and is not thinking about his future.
Romano has also ruled out the possibility of Lewandowski retiring at the end of the season, suggesting that the forward is very much interested in continuing his footballing career.
It must be noted that Lewandowski will turn 38 by next summer, but the forward hasn’t shown any drastic signs of slowing and barring one or two injuries, he has been performing quite well.
