Barcelona host FC Copenhagen at Camp Nou for their final UEFA Champions League group phase fixture on Wednesday.
Hansi Flick’s squad occupies ninth place with 13 points and need a convincing win to increase their chances of securing a top-eight finish in the concluding matchday of the league phase.
Flick’s team wrapped up their league phase preparations with a solid 3-0 La Liga win against Real Oviedo, building on their 4-2 midweek European success over Slavia Prague.
The Blaugrana have triumphed in 13 of their past 14 games across all competitions. Their strong run earlier this year peaked with a 3-2 Spanish Super Cup conquest over Real Madrid, claiming the first silverware of 2026.
Pedri picked up a right hamstring problem in the Champions League clash with Slavia Prague last week, and faces about a month’s recovery time. This setback adds to Barcelona’s mounting injury concerns, alongside Andreas Christensen (ACL tear), Gavi (recovering from meniscus operation, back in February), and Ferran Torres (muscle complaint).
Nevertheless, the Catalan giants have maintained strong momentum lately. Hansi Flick’s charges secured a decisive 3-0 league victory versus Real Oviedo at the weekend, preserving their slim one-point advantage at the top of La Liga.
“The opening goal made a huge difference – we got much better after that,” Flick remarked after the Oviedo result, highlighting the importance of the early strike.
Possible Barcelona starting XI: J Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Martin, Balde; E Garcia, Casado; Yamal, Fermin, Raphinha; Lewandowski
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Wednesday, 28th January.
