Barroso, Aquino and Rhaizza set for Corinthians debut

On Monday (19), Corinthians completed the registration of three athletes for the season. Defender Agustina Barroso and forwards Belén Aquino and Rhaizza had their names published in the Daily Information Bulletin (BID) of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and are now eligible to represent the alvinegro club.

Agustina Barroso returns to Corinthians after nearly a decade. The 32-year-old Argentine defender signed a contract valid until December 2026. Her previous stint with Timão was in 2017, when she played two matches in the Women’s Libertadores, a campaign that ended with the team winning the continental title. Before agreeing to return to Parque São Jorge, the player was with Flamengo.

Belén Aquino, a 23-year-old Uruguayan forward, signed a contract with the São Paulo club until the end of 2028. The athlete joins Corinthians after standing out at Internacional. Timão had already shown interest in signing her at the beginning of 2024, but at the time, the player chose to stay with the club from Rio Grande do Sul. Like Agustina, Belén has already been presented at CT Joaquim Grava.

Rhaizza was the first reinforcement announced by Corinthians for the season. The 27-year-old forward, who previously played for Bahia, signed a contract valid until December 2028 and also had her name published in the BID this Monday, making her eligible to play for the club.

With the three registrations completed, Corinthians now awaits the publication in the BID of other reinforcements. Still pending are midfielders Paola Garcia, formerly of Deportivo Cali, Colombia, and Ana Vitória, formerly of Atlético de Madrid, Spain.

The Brabas’ first match in 2026 will be outside the country. On January 28, Corinthians faces Gotham FC from the United States in the semifinal of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, the Women’s Club World Cup, in London, England.
