Cuiabano’s blistering start at Vasco da Gama has drawn European interest, with clubs contacting the Rio side and Nottingham Forest, who own his rights and loaned him until the end of the season.
O Globo reports that scouts from German clubs watched recent matches in Rio de Janeiro, identifying the 23-year-old as the standout under-23 in Série A. As a result, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have made initial enquiries, alongside two Italian clubs following his progress.
Under Renato Gaúcho, the left-back has driven Vasco’s upturn in the Campeonato Brasileiro, delivering five goal involvements in the last four games. He has one goal and four assists from six appearances, less than two months after arriving.
Members of Brazil’s coaching staff have attended recent fixtures to monitor him for a refreshed post-World Cup cycle later this year. Interest abroad is not new, with Brighton and French sides tracking him during his Botafogo spell in 2025.
Vasco are weighing an early move to avoid losing him. The loan includes a €10 million option to buy, about R$ 61 million, and the club hold contractual priority to match any foreign bid when the window opens.
The fee is steep by domestic standards, but the board are assessing finances to complete a permanent deal, which would run to 31 December 2030. His smooth adaptation counts in Vasco’s favour, and he is happy in São Januário, not keen on a Forest return after difficulties in England, though he still wants a solid European project in time.
