Bayer Leverkusen have reached a verbal agreement with Bochum defender Tim Oermann to join the club in the summer, according to Sky Sports Germany.
Talks between Leverkusen and the 21-year-old have been ongoing for a long time now and an agreement must now be worked on between the two clubs over the transfer.
A fee of around €4 million has reportedly been offered.
Leverkusen are in the hunt for a new centre back this summer due to Jonathan Tah’s upcoming departure and may search for two centre backs if Oermann’s arrival is not until next summer.
An option is being discussed whether Oermann could join this summer and be loaned out to another Bundesliga club next season rather than immediately be a regular part of Xabi Alonso’s squad.
The German centre-back who can also operate as a right-back, has played 25 times for Bochum this season and is set to represent Germany in June at the Under 21 European Championships in Slovakia.
A final decision on his transfer is likely to take place after the European Championships.
