Bayern Munich have held talks with Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani over a potential move next summer (h/t Florian Plettenberg).
The Bavarians’ sporting directors Christoph Freund and Max Eberl have been impressed by the Kosovan international’s stellar progress this season.
His release clause, worth €30 million, can be activated in the summer of 2026.
Asllani has been in sublime form this season, making his strides as one of Europe’s talented young strikers.
The 23-year-old has netted six goals and three assists in all competitions. With Hoffenheim sitting in sixth in the Bundesliga, he will be key to their push for European places.
In addition to his finishing abilities, Asllani excels in build-up, creative passes, pressing and defensive actions, making him one of the complete strikers in the Bundesliga.
He has also scored in the last two games for the Kosovo national team, helping them secure a World Cup-play-off spot.
Asllani is viewed as a potential back-up for Harry Kane or even as his long-term successor.
The English striker, who has been in unstoppable form this season, has a contract running until 2027, and the Bavarians are looking to extend his stay.
However, speculation continues to circulate linking the former Tottenham Hotspur star with a move to Barcelona.
A release clause worth €65m will become active next summer should he decide not to continue with Bayern.
With Nicolas Jackson, currently on loan from Chelsea, not in Bayern’s long-term plans, the Bundesliga champions have set their sights on Asllani.
Asllani is also on Barca’s wishlist for a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski.
