After seeing an initial bid rejected, 1. FC Köln are reportedly holding firm against FC Bayern Munich’s attempts to acquire their #1 goalkeeper Jonas Urbig. Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern have upped an initial offer of €5m plus an additional €5m in performance bonuses.

Plettenberg and Kicker previously reported that Max Eberl (true to form) is prepared to haggle with a second bid in the €6m-€7m range. This still falls short of the €10m demanded by the cathedral city club.

The future of the FCB goalkeeping question remains very much up in the air. Technically speaking, VfB Stuttgart starter Alexander Nübel remains the property of the German record champs.

It’s common knowledge that Eberl secured a buyback clause in Nübel’s latest loan arrangement, which runs through next season. Israeli youth international Daniel Peretz also remains a live candidate to succeed Manuel Neuer.

Peretz’s five starts (three league, one Pokal, and one Champions League fixture) accorded the 24-year-old a serviceable audition. The young keeper nevertheless currently finds himself relegated to the sidelines with a kidney contusion for four to six weeks.

Plettenberg reports that RC Lens have submitted a formal offer to Bayern, though it is not specified as to whether the Ligue 1 outfit wishes to acquire Peretz on loan or purchase him outright.
