Bayern Munich are keen on signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, but are reluctant to match his current wages.
The German champions have turned their attention to Rashford after missing out to Barcelona in the race for Anthony Gordon.
Coincidentally, Gordon’s move to Barcelona has cast doubt on the Spanish side’s own interest in Rashford, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at the Camp Nou.
Bayern are prepared to meet Manchester United’s £34.5m asking price for Rashford, but would require the England international to take a significant cut on his current £325,000-a-week wages.
Club insider Christian Falk has claimed Bayern do not want to spend that level of wages on Rashford, who is not viewed as a guaranteed starter at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich’s current frontline of Luis Diaz, Michael Olise and Harry Kane helped the Bavarians break the Bundesliga’s single-season goal record in 2025/26.
Vincent Kompany’s side are also closing in on the signing of Moroccan midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven. Saibari was named the Eredivisie Player of the Year last season after scoring 15 times and adding eight assists.
