Harry Kane was forced off after a collision with Amine Adli, but the Englishman believes he will be fit enough for Bayern Munich’s Champions League game against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Speaking in the mixed zone after Bayern’s 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, Kane said: “It’s painful, but I think it’s ok. We’ll check the foot again tomorrow,” before adding: “I assume I’ll be able to play” when asked if he will feature against Aston Villa.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen further added, via Maximilian Koch: “He took a hit but as the doctors said, it’s probably nothing serious. We’ll have to look at it again tomorrow.”
Kane went down holding his left ankle following a duel with Leverkusen’s Adli. As noted by Kicker, it’s an area that has troubled the player during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. As of now, the all-clear has been given but Kane will undergo further tests on Monday to check for any further damage.
