Bayern Munich head to the BayArena on Wednesday to take on Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal semi-final.
The Bavarians haven’t lifted the cup since the 2019–20 season, and Vincent Kompany’s side will be eager to reach the final as they continue their push for a treble. They’ve already secured the Bundesliga title with four games to spare after beating Stuttgart 4–2.
Bayern are in outstanding form, going 17 matches unbeaten. They arrive after securing the Champions League semi-finals spot after a 6–4 aggregate win over Real Madrid. Harry Kane has been central to their success, scoring over 50 goals this season. The team is also unbeaten in 27 domestic away matches and has won each of their last 14 DFB Pokal games when scoring at least twice.
Serge Gnabry is the biggest injury concern, with an adductor tear ruling him out for the rest of the season.
Squad depth is also affected, with Lennart Karl (muscle fibre tear) and Tom Bischof (calf issue) still unavailable despite nearing returns.
Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is sidelined with a muscle injury, so Manuel Neuer is expected to start. There is good news, though, as Jamal Musiala has fully recovered and should return to the starting lineup, adding creativity alongside Kane.
Possible Bayern Munich starting XI: Neuer; Laimer, Tah, Upamecano, Stanisic; Pavlovic, Kimmich; Diaz, Musiala, Olise; Kane
The match will kick off at 7:45pm BST on Wednesday, 22nd April.
Fans in the United Kingdom can watch the match between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich live on Premier Sports 2.
