Bild reports that major renovation works are under way at Bayern Munich’s Säbener Straße training ground, while plans for a new €150 million performance centre remain on hold.
The project for a new complex had been approved by the supervisory board, but it has been paused. One stated factor is the volume of earth that would need removing by trucks to create two underground levels.
In the meantime, the existing performance centre is being refurbished, including a small extension towards the training pitch. A first-floor meeting room is planned, and the athletics and physiotherapy areas will be expanded.
The fan shop is also being modernised. The training pitches have been renovated in recent days.
Bayern views the works as part of a wider refresh to turn Säbener Straße into a more modern home for the club. Whether and when the new performance centre will be built remains undecided.
