FC Bayern wins 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup to reach the final. The Bayern stars in the FCBinside individual review.
Manuel Neuer: Had nothing to do in the first half, but made a brilliant save from Tella’s dangerous low shot at the start of the second half. Neuer was there when he was needed for the one time. Mark: 2
Josip Stanisic: Made a very attentive appearance on his return to his old loan station. Stanisic always looked focused and ventured a few forays into the attack. On one of these forays, Stanisic got a shot away from a dangerous position, but Flekken was able to save. Stanisic tried again with a shot from just outside the box, but missed. Goal : 2
Dayot Upamecano: Had the first chance for Bayern in the opening minutes, but put the ball over the goal. Defensively, Upamecano was unstoppable. His tackling was outstanding. Grade: 2
Jonathan Tah: It was a trip down memory lane for Tah. The centre-back played a commanding game against his former club – mostly against Schick. The Bayer striker didn’t make a mark against Tah. A top performance. Grade: 2

Konrad Laimer: Covered the left side of defence and was very aggressive. In contrast to his opposite number Stanisic, he was unable to make an impact in attack. Grade: 3
Joshua Kimmich: Exemplary fighting spirit! Kimmich never shied away from a duel. He took on the central role in Bayern’s transitional play and repeatedly initiated good attacks. Convincing performance from Kimmich. Mark: 2
Aleksandar Pavlovic: Was very industrious and repeatedly closed down spaces well. However, Pavlovic was only rarely able to get involved in Bayern’s attacking play. Mark: 3
Michael Olise: Had a dangerous shot near the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was not precise enough and Flekken in the Leverkusen goal was able to catch it. Olise had a lot of contact with the ball throughout the match. The Leverkusen defence could never really get him under control. Strong performance! Grade: 2
Jamal Musiala: Set up Kane’s 1-0 for Bayern with a sensitive pass. At the start of the second half, Musiala almost tapped the ball into the net, but Andrich was able to save. Musiala was a real asset in Bayern’s game. The number 10 is finding his way back to his old strength from game to game. Grade: 2
Luis Diaz: Dangerously curled a ball into the far corner in the first half, but Bayer keeper Flekken stretched to make the save. Diaz played his part in making it 1-0 for Bayern: The Colombian had the presence of mind to let through Musiala’s pass to Kane. In the second half, he tested Flekken with a shot from inside the penalty area and scored in stoppage time to make it 2-0. Diaz played with incredible commitment: He fought like a defensive player against the ball and was always dangerous in his attacking actions. A good game. Grade: 2

Harry Kane : Failed to beat Flekken with his first opportunity from close range, but Kane then coolly finished to make it 1-0 for FCB. Shortly before the break, Kane had another shot from a good position, but fired the ball over. In the second half, Flekken was again able to hold off Kane, but the Englishman was unfortunate to get stuck in the turf with his next chance shortly afterwards. Kane once again worked a lot at the back and played several perfect long passes. Mark: 2
Substitute
Alphonso Davies (74th for Laimer): Showed his impressive speed in a running duel. Had everything under control in the closing stages. mark: 3
Leon Goretzka (74 for Pavlovic): Finished the game cleanly. He missed a shot from just outside the penalty area, but was otherwise faultless. Mark: 3
Minjae Kim (84 for Musiala): Came on too late to score
