Bednarek named I Liga Defender of the Month for fourth time | OneFootball

Jan Bednarek has been named I Liga Defender of the Month for February, his fourth win in the category. According to O Jogo, the FC Porto centre-back topped the coaches’ vote.

He was ever-present across five league matches in February, made 41 ball recoveries and scored once.

Bednarek collected 20% of the vote, ahead of Tondela’s Brayan Medina on 10% and Sporting’s Maxi Araújo on 9.23%, from the competition’s head coaches.

In II Liga, Académico de Viseu centre-back Anthony Correia took the award with 34.07% of the competition’s head coaches’ votes.

He finished ahead of his brother, Romain Correia of Marítimo, who received 12.59%, and Bruno Ramos of Sporting B with 8.89%. The 26-year-old Luso-French defender started all three of Viseu’s February fixtures and scored twice.
