Real Madrid have been put on alert over Kylian Mbappé’s form and fitness days before they host Benfica in the Champions League second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to Glorioso 1904, Álvaro Arbeloa’s side are uneasy about a sudden dip from the club’s current leading scorer, with his situation setting off alarm bells ahead of the tie.

Mbappé drew a blank at Estádio da Luz, where Vinícius Jr found the winner for Madrid. He then failed to score again in the unexpected defeat to Osasuna, making it two games without a goal.

He also carried a knee complaint in January and missed much of that month for Madrid, and the issue is still viewed as an obstacle for the 27-year-old forward.

Benfica are already preparing for Wednesday, 25 February, aiming to get past Madrid and reach the round of 16. José Mourinho has his full squad available, including Gianluca Prestianni, while Arbeloa faces another significant midfield absentee.
