Jude Bellingham says he is feeling ready to contribute to a strong end to the season for Real Madrid and success for England at the World Cup after an injury-hit campaign.
The midfielder missed the start of the season after having shoulder surgery, and more recently missed a month with a hamstring injury.
“I’m feeling good,” Bellingham said ahead of Real’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
“Obviously a bit of a frustrating season for me. My first like this really where I’m missing so many games with injury.
“My shoulder was a planned one at the start of the season and now with my hamstring in the last couple of months, it’s been really frustrating.
“But I’m feeling good now. I think the hardest bit of an injury when you’re coming back is trying to mentally prepare for games.
“A scan tell you the hamstring is fine but a lot of the block is in your head and that’s helped by just having more minutes on the pitch. I think playing against Mallorca, Atleti, the minutes against Bayern in the first leg, have given me a lot of confidence now to push on and I’m feeling good.”
Bellingham admits his side’s clash with Bayern feels like “all or nothing” given they have little hope of winning any other silverware this season.
“Any loss in the Champions League feels like a disaster,” he said.
“Given the situation we’re in, we understand that tomorrow is a final and it feels like everything is riding on this game.
“It’s important that we’re present, that we show up, but we have to see it as an all or nothing game. That has to be our mentality and we can’t hide from that.”
