Benfica climb to second as Ríos supplies two assists | OneFootball

Benfica beat Vitória S.C. 3-0 on Saturday to climb from third to second in Liga Portugal and extend their unbeaten league season.

In the 14th minute, Gianluca Prestianni finished inside the box from Richard Ríos' pass. After the restart, Evangelos Pavlidis tucked in from close range (55.) as Ríos turned provider again. Beni then diverted into his own net (74.).

Anatolii Trubin made key stops, denying Miguel Nogueira and Samu as Vitória S.C. pushed after the interval.

José Mourinho introduced Rafa Silva and Sidny Cabral, and Águias threatened again, with Rafa denied by Charles and Dodi Lukébakio shooting over late.

Vitória S.C. forced a run of corners around the hour mark but could not convert deliveries from João Mendes and Telmo Arcanjo.

Águias registered 12 attempts, with four on target. Vitória S.C. enjoyed more of the ball and produced 16 attempts but hit the target only twice. Pavlidis sits second in the Liga Portugal scoring chart with 21 goals.
