According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica, newly crowned back-to-back futsal champions, have confirmed the departures of Higor de Souza, Diego Nunes and Jacaré on free transfers at the end of this season. The campaign delivered the National Championship, Portuguese Cup and League Cup.

Pivot Higor de Souza, 27, signs off after a standout year with 20 goals, placing him among the squad’s leading scorers under Cassiano Klein. Wearing number nine, the Brazilian was central to Benfica’s attack and made key contributions, including in the Liga Placard final.

Winger Diego Nunes, 31, also leaves this summer. He was one of the decisive figures in the final, scoring three across the tie and supplying vital assists, and ends the season on 19 goals.

Winger or pivot Jacaré, 27, was the team’s second top scorer with 27 goals in 25/26 and one of Klein’s most used players with 42 appearances. A mainstay in build-up and finishing, his exit is among the most keenly felt of the summer. He had been at the club for 10 years.

Benfica are already shaping 2026/2027, aiming to defend the national title and compete in the UEFA Futsal Champions League, with Cassiano Klein continuing to lead the project. Summer moves are expected to confirm reinforcements to cover the Brazilian trio’s exits.
