Benfica are monitoring Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer and talks are ongoing between the parties, a German publication reports. The Slovakia international is also attracting Hoffenheim and Stuttgart.
That outlet adds that Hoffenheim have reached an agreement with the 20-year-old, although no deal is in place with Feyenoord. The move is therefore not sealed.
Hoffenheim have submitted several offers that were rejected, keeping the door open for rivals to act decisively. Stuttgart are keen to sign Sauer and are prepared to invest around 10 million, according to the same report.
FR12 previously reported that Stuttgart aim to overtake Hoffenheim in the chase for the player. Stuttgart finished fourth in last seasons Bundesliga and can offer Champions League football.
Hoffenheim came fifth and will play in the Europa League, like Benfica. No details have emerged about any formal proposal from the club led by Rui Costa.
