Benfica reveal 2026 Galardões Cosme Damião nominees ahead of anniversary gala | OneFootball

Benfica have named the nominees for the 2026 Galardões Cosme Damião. According to Glorioso 1904, winners will be revealed on 17 March at Pavilion No 2 at the Estádio da Luz complex, part of the club's 122nd anniversary celebrations.

Nicolás Otamendi will look to retain Men's Footballer of the Year, with António Silva, Tomás Araújo, Aursnes and Pavlidis also shortlisted.

The men's revelation shortlist features Anísio Cabral, Samuel Soares and Schjelderup, who also receives an individual distinction.

Lúcia Alves, the 2025 winner, is among the Women's Footballer of the Year nominees alongside Anna Gasper, Christy Ucheibe, Cristina Prieto and Lena Pauels.

Carolina Tristão, Clarinha and Thaís Lima are in contention for the women's revelation award.

Men's basketball and futsal, and women's volleyball, are competing for Modality of the Year.

For Coach of the Year, Norberto Alves, last year's winner in men's basketball, is joined by Cassiano Klein for men's futsal, Rui Moreira for women's volleyball, and Paulo Almeida of women's roller hockey.

The high-performance athlete category includes roller hockey's Aimée Blackman, futsal's Arhtur, and athletics duo Isaac Nader and Salomé Afonso.

Kutchy in futsal, Mariana Garcez in volleyball, Pedro Afonso in athletics and Viti in roller hockey are shortlisted for the modalities revelation honour.
