Benfica target Rodrigo Zalazar named February Midfielder of the Month | OneFootball

Rodrigo Zalazar has been named Liga Portugal Betclic’s Midfielder of the Month for February, his second award of the campaign. According to Glorioso 1904, the Braga playmaker is on Benfica’s radar.

He started all five league games in February, producing five goals and one assist as Braga posted four consecutive wins to remain fourth in the table.

The 26-year-old won 28.36% of the vote, ahead of Santi Garcia of Gil Vicente on 11.94% and João Carvalho of Estoril Praia with 11.19%.

Zalazar said he was very happy with the recognition, and stressed that while it is an individual prize, it reflects the team’s collective work on the pitch.

Across 2025/26 he has 22 goals and seven assists in 41 matches, totalling 3,028 minutes, and has been one of the leading performers under head coach Carlos Vicens.
