Benfica’s Goncalo Oliveira set for Rennes move | OneFootball

SL Benfica’s Goncalo Oliveira (19) is set to sign for Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais, according to a report from Le Parisien. The centre-back will sign a five-year deal, the report adds. 

The Portuguese left-sided centre-back is said to have reached an agreement with Les Rouge et Noir, who are believed to have struck a €2.5m deal with the Lisbon club for the transfer of the 19-year-old. That figure does not include bonuses.

Regarded as one of Portuguese football’s most promising talents, Oliveira enjoyed a successful season with Benfica’s reserve team. Starting in all 33 of his appearances, the left-footed player played a pivotal role in his team’s run to the semi-finals of the Youth League, where he captained the side. Despite being included in matchday squads, he has not made his debut for the senior side.

Oliveira has now arrived in Brittany in order to complete his move to Rennes after an agreement was reached with Benfica for his transfer. A five-year deal awaits him.
