Benjamin Pavards home in Marseille was the scene of an attempted burglary on Wednesday around 20:00.
According to La Provence, his partner and brother-in-law came upon five men in the garden of the property in the 7th arrondissement, then alerted police.

The suspects fled in a Mercedes, which officers located minutes later.
Five men aged 16 to 27, from the Paris region, were arrested and placed in custody.
An investigation has been opened on suspicion of attempted theft by breaking and entering. Pavard is on his way out of Olympique de Marseille, where he spent this season on loan from Inter Milan.
