Benjamin Sesko’s agent’s latest comments suggest that the player may not be too happy with his current situation at Manchester United.
Despite a blistering run of form that has revitalised United’s Champions League charge, the striker’s representative has hit out at the growing narrative surrounding his client’s role under interim boss Michael Carrick.
The agent of the Slovenian international, Elvis Basanovic, has revealed that he isn’t keen on the striker being described as a “super sub.”
Speaking to Arena Sport (quotes via The Mirror), Basanovic made it clear that while Sesko is delivering results from the bench, the label is one he finds disrespectful for a player of his caliber.
He said: “If you ask me about this name, I don’t like it. I like ‘super striker’ much more. I think Benjamin is a super striker.
“He has started 13 games this year, coming off the bench in 13 games. He scored half of his goals when he started the game and half when he came off the bench.
“We can see that he is a complete striker and Benjamin is someone who deserves the name ‘super striker.'”
Basanovic was adamant that the £74 million summer signing from RB Leipzig should be viewed as a complete striker rather than an impact player.
The agent’s frustration hints at a growing tension behind the scenes, suggesting that while Sesko remains professional, his camp expects him to be the first name on the team sheet.
Sesko’s resurgence since the appointment of Michael Carrick in January has been nothing short of remarkable.
After struggling to find the net under Ruben Amorim, the 22-year-old has now netted 10 goals across all competitions this term.
Crucially, four of those strikes have arrived as a second-half substitute, including vital match-winners against Fulham and Everton and a late equaliser versus West Ham.

This ‘clutch’ factor has prompted the “super sub” nickname from fans and media alike.
However, Carrick has preferred a frontline featuring Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, often leaving Sesko to provide the spark in the final 30 minutes.
