Roma, in addition to the forwards, are looking for reinforcements on the flanks.
The only certainty from last season was Wesley, although Celik was consistent on the pitch, albeit with all the technical limitations that come with it.
Gasperini needs a starter and has outlined his plan to the club. The Grugliasco-born coach has already clarified his plan to the club, and everything will depend on Wesley.
If the Brazilian remains on the left, they’ll look for a right-back starter, with Rensch and Celik useful alternatives (while waiting to see if Angelino will truly become a resource again).
If, however, Gasperini decides to move Wesley back to the right, they’ll need a starter on the left—the same request he made to Massara in January, given Tsimikas’ departure over the winter months.
And if it’s a left-footed winger, one name is at the top of the Giallorossi coach’s wish list: Lorenzo Bernasconi, born in 2003 and currently playing for Atalanta.
According to SiamoLaRoma.it, Gasperini has identified Lorenzo Bernasconi as the perfect candidate thanks to his pace, dynamism, and crossing ability.
Gasp knows the youngster well and is one of his favorites to raise the bar with a left-footed player on the left flank. Atalanta values the 2003-born player at around €25 million.
