Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo is set for a January transfer, with Bristol City the benefactors after the latest reveal regarding Manchester City.
Antoine Semenyo's AFC Bournemouth situation will be of significant interest to Bristol City in the early parts of January, with the wide forward interesting numerous Premier League clubs.
Two of those named as interested are huge rivals, with Man United and Man City wanting Semenyo. The forward came through the ranks at Ashton Gate and had loan spells with Bath City, Newport County, and Sunderland before Bristol City sold him to Bournemouth in January 2023.
Semenyo made the switch to the Cherries in a deal worth a reported £10.5 million. However, it’s also been claimed that the Robins will be owed 20 percent of the profit from a sale if the player leaves Bournemouth next month.

It's been stated recently that Man City are considered the favourites to land Semenyo during the upcoming January transfer window.
It’s understood that Semenyo's £65 million release clause becomes active on 1 January, which could open the door for his exit from the Premier League side.
If Semenyo is sold for his £65 million release clause, then Bristol City will be entitled to an £11 million fee due to their 20 percent of profit sell-on clause. An additional figure like that coming in during the January window would be a huge boost to their promotion hopes.
Bristol City would not have to sell a player to bring in that cash and potentially improve Gerhard Struber’s squad. They are 11th and have recently fallen out of the play-off places, but remain just five points back from Preston North End in third.
The funds look likely to be secured after the latest reveal. That's because TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook states that the race for Semenyo is hotting up.
He adds that a January move is now very likely. His understanding is that Man City have held direct talks with the winger. Not only that, but Liverpool, Man United, and Tottenham Hotspur are also very keen, with Spurs seen as outsiders at this stage.

Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk adds that Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Semenyo, having also reportedly spoken to the versatile Ghanaian in recent days.
Meanwhile, Dean Jones claims Liverpool are confident they are Semenyo's preferred destination, but also that Man City are confident a move for Semenyo is going in the right direction.
It appears one of Man City or Liverpool is the likeliest destination for the two-footed attacker, but Bristol City are perhaps the biggest winners out of the situation, which will be resolved in the early weeks of next month.
